Hi everyone,
Here is a video we did in Chile this year. It is close to my heart because it shows in a more personal note my journey through surfing and big wave surfing. I hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoyed doing it. The video was done by chilean film maker Rodrigo Farias Moreno.

Patagonia Paddle Board Race event in Honolulu

Last night we went to an event in the Patagonia Honolulu Store to celebrate the Paddle Board Race from Molokai to Oahu that will take place this Sunday. The race of 32 miles open-ocean crossing of the Molokai Channel will take place for the 15th consecutive year.
We had amazing fish tacos and watched a movie of the crossing in a big screen. Patagonia ambassadors Gerry Lopez, Jeff Denholm and Zeb Walsh will be competing this Sunday.

Watching the movie at the Honolulu store

Watching the movie I realized what a great test of physical and mental endurance it is to finish this race. It takes many hours of sacrifice and focus to endure the elements of the open ocean such as winds, currents, swells, sun exposure, etc. It seems that the gratification from accomplishing such a strenuous task and the feeling of becoming one with the ocean are the motivation to complete the race. I applaud each and every competitor and wish them the best luck and enjoyment during Sunday’s race!

Great times with our Patagonia friends

Last Friday we did the first store event in Buenos Aires to present the Patagonia wetsuits in Argentina. It was a lovely evening with around a hundred guests. We presented a video that we had been working on in Chile, by Rodrigo Farias Moreno. After some questions and answers we had a great surprise for our friends that joined us: a live performance by Mimi Maura and Sergio Rotman.
Mimi is one of the most famous singers in Argentina and Sergio is an iconic musician who used to play in The Fabulosos Cadillacs among other great bands. It was a great honor to have them be a part of that special night. I hope we can do more events in the future in this store. As you might already know, I am originally from Buenos Aires, so it means a lot to me to come back to my home city and be able to share my love for surfing with my people.
