Have you ever faced a situation where you had to make a major decision that would change the course of your life?

Did your body cringe in fear, yet your soul knew it was exactly what you needed to do?

If you’ve ever found yourself facing a huge life change, you know exactly how much power a single moment in time can have: the moment you decide to do something totally new.

I’ve been through a major changing event in my life the past weeks. After eleven years living in Hawaii, I am moving to Austin.

I know, you may be thinking, Austin Texas? But there’s no surf there!

Believe me, I am aware of that, yet this is my next step to take. Let me explain…

As many of you know, I had a very bad surfing injury almost two years ago, that I thought would have faded by now. But I am not fully healed yet. I realized that one of the things that made this injury worse, was to keep surfing heavy waves. My body just couldn’t take that kind of impact.

It’s been quite a journey because this has been probably the most consistent big wave season in Hawaii that I can recall since I live here. I won’t lie and say that it has been easy to step aside and not do what I love. But, caring for my health became my priority now.

Life has always the most unexpected ways to show you the path for your next steps.

I’m heading into an adventure that I wouldn’t have even considered when I was focused only on my surfing career and my online business. I’ve been offered a great work opportunity in Austin, Texas that I felt really compelled to do.

When I was proposed to do this work, my mind said “What?” but my heart jumped with joy and my mouth instantly said “YES!”

My instinct was so strong that I couldn’t even doubt my decision.

I felt that it was time to jump off the keyboard and the virtual online world that I’ve been doing for the last five years, and be with people in “real life”.

I love what I do with my online courses, writing in my blog and sharing about Abundance, and I will always keep doing this. Yet I am ready to expand and participate in life in different ways as well.

I will be leaving Oahu in a couple of days from now. I never in my wildest dreams thought I would leave this island but hey, never say never! I even bought my condo in Hawaii and remodeled it in order to live in it not even a year ago!

This change also comes with sadness for leaving those I love behind (including the waves), yet it also comes with hope, excitement and a deep knowledge within that this is what I need to do for myself right now.

I am leaving a structure in Hawaii, to come back when I healed and am ready to surf the waves that I want to surf. I might even bring this new work opportunity to Oahu in a few years from now. We’ll see what the Universe has in it’s plans…

For now, I am very excited to go to Austin. I have many dear close friends there including my meditation teachers Jim and Brian, whom I consider my family. They have all been reaching out to me lately, offering help, making my move to Austin so easy, and for that I am so grateful.

I have found an amazing tenant to rent my condo in Hawaii (I hope that she enjoys it as much as I did!). I’ve also found the most beautiful place to live in Austin (it has a giant swimming pool and 30 acres of green to hike and bike around it). Everything has been flowing effortlessly.

This is my year to heal my body, get some fresh air with a change of scenery, be around the people I love and focus on my spiritual path at a deeper level.

I have been so guided every single step of the way, that even when the fear of the unknown shows up, I jump into this new chapter with eyes shut and total trust.

I will share with you how things unfold, as I feel that there will be many adventures ahead. I am counting the days to start this new phase of my life!

If you are going (or have gone) through some big changes, I would love to hear from you in the comments below so we all get inspired. Sometimes we need to hear how things manifest for others so we can feel confident and make a shift.

If you are wanting to make a big change but don’t know how, just trust that when the time is right you will feel it in your gut.

Like Rumi said almost a thousand years ago,

Respond to every call
that excites your spirit.”

Here I go, following my spirit as I take my next leap of faith.

Are you ready to take yours?

P.S: If you are in Austin, I’d love for you to reach out so we can get to know each other and do fun stuff together!

Besos and lots of love,
